Understanding Conflict: A New Perspective

Whether we feel frustrated at work, disagree with a loved one, or simply feel stuck in life, conflict is something we can't escape.

But here’s a thought: what if conflict isn’t actually the problem? What if the real issue lies in how we perceive conflict? Shifting our perspective could change everything. Instead of viewing conflict as a roadblock, we might see it as an opportunity for growth and understanding.

The Myth of an Easy Life

If you’ve ever thought, “Why can’t things just go smoothly?”—you’re not alone. A lot of people believe that once they start manifesting, meditating, or getting into personal growth, life should suddenly be easy. But here’s the truth: challenges don’t disappear. In fact, they’re a necessary part of the process. Think about your favourite sports game—what makes it exciting? The competition. Or your favourite movie—there’s always a challenge the main character has to overcome, right? We’re wired to love the journey, not just the destination.

Finding Yourself in the Struggle

Turning conflict into creativity

Ever heard of the Hero’s Journey? It’s the classic story of someone facing a challenge, struggling, and coming out stronger. That’s life. That’s your life. You’re not supposed to have everything handed to you; you’re meant to grow, to push through, to evolve. But here’s where most people get stuck—they resist resistance itself. They see challenges as proof they’re failing instead of signs that they’re on the right path. What if you could start seeing resistance as part of the adventure?

The Problem With Getting Everything You Want Instantly

Imagine if you could snap your fingers and have everything you desire immediately. Sounds amazing, right? But after a while… wouldn’t it get boring? No goals to work towards, no excitement in achieving something hard? The truth is, we don’t actually want everything to be effortless. We want the thrill of creation. The joy of proving to ourselves that we can do it.

Shifting Perspective: Seeing Conflict Differently

Try this: Think about something in the world that bothers you—maybe a social issue, a work problem, or a relationship struggle. Now, please close your eyes and let go of all your opinions about it. Just for a moment, imagine looking at it from a higher perspective, as if you were watching it from space. From way up there, does it seem as overwhelming? Or does it feel smaller and more manageable?

Now, do the same with a personal issue. Maybe there’s someone in your life who annoys you or a situation that frustrates you. Take a breath, let go of your need to be right, and imagine looking at it from a bird’s-eye view. What changes?

The Three Ways We See Life

We usually operate from one of these perspectives:

  1. Unconscious – Reacting on autopilot, stuck in old habits.

  2. Self-conscious – Overthinking, doubting, feeling stuck.

  3. Superconscious – Rising above, seeing the bigger picture, and creating with intention.

Which one do you think will make your life more fulfilling? The good news is, you get to choose which perspective you live from.

Turning Obstacles Into Opportunities

Ancient alchemists talked about turning lead into gold—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. They knew that challenges weren’t barriers; they were raw material for transformation. You can do the same with your struggles. Here’s how:

Try This Simple Process

  1. Acknowledge the challenge – Stop avoiding it. See it for what it is.

  2. Feel it – Let yourself really sit with it instead of pushing it away.

  3. Listen to it – What is this challenge trying to teach you?

  4. Shift your perspective – Imagine looking at it from a higher place.

  5. Ask: What’s the next best step? – Get clear on what action to take.

  6. Do it – Even if it’s small, take one step forward.

Picture your resistance as a block of ice. Now imagine putting it in the sun and letting it melt away. That’s what happens when you shift your perspective—you free yourself to move forward.

What Will You Choose?

So here’s my question to you: What’s one conflict in your life right now that you could see differently? What happens when you rise above it and look at it from a bigger perspective?

Drop your thoughts in the comments—I’d love to hear what shifts for you.

With Love,

Juli
